Let’s have a closer look at the baggage policy. Passengers can carry one carry-on luggage and one personal item in the cabin. The personal item does not incur any fee & it includes a purse, laptop, laptop bag, and a small briefcase. But the carry-on baggage will incur applicable fees. The fees can be paid while you are booking your ticket. If your reservation is done already, you can check in online at flyfrontier.com and pay the fees. This applies to one ticket.

The size measurements of carry-on luggage are 24*16*10 inches or 61*41*28 cm. This includes wheels and handles as well. Moreover, the carry-on should be small enough to fit under the seat in front of the passenger or the overhead bin.

The personal item should not exceed the weight and size requirements which are (18*14*8) inches or (46*36*20) cm. They are to be placed under the seat in front of the passenger.

We have mentioned what items are considered personal items and, therefore, can be carried free. It is important to mention items that cannot be count as personal items under Frontier Airlines Baggage Policy.

Passenger’s crutches, walkers, crutches, and other assistive devices.

Clothing or other wearable items.

Umbrellas and walking canes.

Child restraint seats for infants and diaper bags.

Passengers are allowed to bring one personal item such as a laptop, and one carry-on item for no extra fees. They can also carry one carry-on item in the cabin but for an applicable fee.

Paying extra fees is involved per bag when they fall under the overweight and oversized bags category.

Certain sporting equipment will acquire applicable fees.

As per Frontier Airlines Baggage Policy, the airline allows checked bags for a fee and are counted separately from your flight fare. If you wish to travel in bags you are asked to pay an additional fee. You can pay the fee at the time of booking or during check-in online.

But what about oversized, overweight, and extra baggage. Let’s find out.

A fee of 75USD is charged for baggage going over the size requirements (size requirements are already mentioned above). The baggage that comes under oversized baggage falls under 160-292 cm or 63-115 inches (linear). If the bag exceeds this limit, the airline will not accept checked baggage or hold luggage under Frontier Airlines Baggage Policy.

Just like size restrictions, Frontier Airlines have weight restrictions for checked baggage as well. The standard weight that is accepted is 23 kilograms or 50 pounds. For bags falling between 51 to 100 pounds or 24 to 46 kilograms are considered oversized bags. The airline charges 75USD per oversized bag.

Frontier will not accept the bags exceeding 46 kilograms or 100 pounds and therefore will not be considered as checked baggage.

Third+ Bag

Passengers can carry CPAP machines with them only if the canister is emptied. The valve of the unit must also be removed. Frontier’s aircraft do not have electrical power for CPAP. The machine cannot exceed the size and weight dimensions laid down by the airlines.

Frontier Airlines Baggage Policy states that adult passengers traveling with children up to 2 years of age, do not require to purchase their seat. They will be considered a lap child. It is necessary to inform the airlines before you board the plane. One adult passenger is allowed, one lap child. If you are traveling with more than one infant, you need to purchase a separate ticket for the other infant. The passenger carrying the infant must be of 15 years of age or above on domestic flights and 18 years and above for international flights.

Please make sure you carry a birth certificate or other identification proof of the infant such as a shot record. You will be asked to show it at the check-in.

If you wish to purchase a ticket for your infant, you can do that but carry a proper child restraint device (one with a strong harness) to ensure the kid will be safe on board.

A passenger traveling with a kid above 2 years of age needs to purchase his/her ticket as well.

Frontier adheres to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety guidelines and allows all the medications and assistive devices in the cabin that FAA approves. This includes canes, crutches, walkers, CPAP machines, etc. If you are traveling with an assistive device, please inform the airlines in advance so that they can be fully prepared for you. While making a reservation, click on “Add Special Services” and select the option you need. When you reach the airport inform the skycap on the curbside about your requirement for a wheelchair.

Make sure you have an identification tag on the wheelchair when you check in.

Frontier allows pets to accompany the passenger in the cabin. They are to be kept in the pet carrier for the duration of the flight.

If you are traveling with a small cat or a dog, you need to pay the pet fare, which is 75USD one way. The fare is applicable for one pet carrier. The dimensions of the pet carrier cannot exceed (18*14*8) inches measurements.

The passenger traveling with the pet must carry a health certificate of the pet issued by the veterinarian within 10 days of the flight’s departure. A rabies certificate is required for dogs.

Frontier does not allow pets who have an illness, poor kennel training, aggressive behaviour on their airplane.

The carry-on should be small enough to fit under the seat compartment in front of the passenger or the bin overhead.

A Frontier carry-on bag usually costs $30 if you purchase it 24 hours before departure on Frontier’s website.

To bring a backpack without paying any fees, it must not exceed 14″ x 18″ x 8″ in size. Frontier will not charge for small backpacks that fit under the seat in front of you.
